Come to them all - or dip in and out as each class can teach you something new! Keep fit or Just for fun! All welcome. Tuesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm January 8th through 29th 2008 Merengue is part of Dominican Republic folklore, lively and joyful dance written in 4/4 time and because we move in every beat, we count them 1,2 and 1,2. Therefore the sequences are just two steps, transfering the weight on each step, which make it very easy to dance. February 5th through 26th 2008 Salsa - its back March 4th to 18th 2008 Cha-Cha is the newcomer of the Latin American dances. This dance was first seen in the dance-halls of America, in the early fifties, following closely Mambo, from which it was developed. Shortly after the Mambo was introduced, another rhythm started to gain popularity, a rhythm that was ultimately to become the most commonly known of the Latin American dances throughout the world. It was named Cha-Cha. The music is slower than Mambo and the rhythm is less complicated. The interpretation of Cha-Cha music should produce a happy, carefree, cheeky, party-time-like atmosphere. Each lesson is £5 Adults / £1 Under 16 (must be accompanied by an adult)
