Green Wood carving With Wooden Tom -Learn to Carve a traditional Scottish whisky quaich in time for Burns Night . A little more physical than other courses such as the intro course or spoon carving as you will be carving a large piece of wood.

You will learn all the green wood skills and tool techniques needed to carve your own wooden traditional quiche. Starting with the carving axe you will move through the tools onto the gouge and finally the carving knife. This is a great course that is very rewarding and you get to walk away with a beautiful wooden quaich at the end (ideal wedding gift).

‘Come along and create some beautiful, and wildlife friendly art for your garden. The workshop will involve choosing from a range of box designs suitable for different species of birds/ insects, building and decorating your chosen design.

There will also be information available about the wildlife that may move in, where to site your box and other wildlife gardening tips.

All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring any half empty tins of outdoor paint if you have any that you no longer need.

You may wish to wear old clothes and bring bin bags/ newspaper to transport your work home if it is still drying.’

Photo Safari in the Great Glen - Cancelled

Saturday 5th March 2016 10.00am to 3.00pm

Perfect for beginners of DSLR photography, the basic controls and settings of a DSLR camera will be covered, but wildlife and landscape photography will be the main focus of the class (camera trapping of wildlife will also be covered.) We will head out on to the Great Glen Way for some photography, then return indoors to review the day’s photos. Your favourite photos will then be selected to be exhibited in the Craigmonie Centre.

Reach for the skies with a series of events aimed at novice hill walkers or those wanting to brush up on their map reading. Learn the basic skills needed to go into the hills over 3 evening classes indoors, culminating in a full day’s guided walk up Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh near Drumnadrochit.
