The Artist:

Born in Banff in 1961, schooled in Inverness, studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art: Dundee, attaining a BA (hons) fine art degree in 1988. Over the year he has shown his work ion group and open exhibitions throughout the UK & worked on various community and public art projects in Dundee and Glasgow. Settled in the Drumnadrochit area 4 years ago and after a long period of serious illness has returned to painting again. This is his first exhibition in the Glenurquhart area.

The Art:

The work ranges from observed views and juxtaposed elements to existing objects and imagined constructions placed out of context in landscape settings. A strong use of colour, shape and pattern with sources of narrative, symbolism and surrealism help express the human shaping and mis-shaping of landscapes.

These images have been left open ended enough for viewers to create their own interpretations.
